Museum Trinkets

There's a display wall tucked in a corner of the Mexican exhibit with a number of pre-classical Mexican figurines. One particular section of that display has a ton of very small figurines and thingamabobs, they're all wonderfully crafted and cute as heck.

Wormy Things

Worms, cilia, whatever, just another doodle. I'm also working on a painting of this one.

Based on a dream. The context was something along the lines of a voice telling me to update some old work with Mojo.... so yeah.

Hello Lulu

An illustration for a kid's book, Hello Lulu. The story is about a little girl and her family; my version takes place aboard a space station with Lulu as an experimental robot prototype. This is Lulu's teddy bear.

Errands

This morning I had to go into the city to drop off something for my sister. Waking up early and begrudgingly accepting the errand wasn't all bad; I got to run to the Museum of Natural History for a bit, which seemed monstrously crowded for a Monday afternoon. I had time for these sketches and a stroll before I had to return home (and before the crowds got to me). Yes children, people enjoy drawing. No parents, that is not a "Buffalo," it is a Musk Ox. It says so right there.
Anyway...
In other news, I was looking for straight razors in the basement and stumbled upon my grandfather's old Nikon F2, along with several zoom and macro lenses, a motor drive, three electronic flashes, a few filters, and a "Pocket Guide to Practical Photography." Considering I had foolishly forgotten he had even given it to me, it was quite a pleasant surprise, and I'm going to see if I can snap anything of worth with it.

On top is a boat in Montauk, I couldn't read the name, but I think it said "Jason & Danielle." The bottom is a rental sailboat from the Lavallette Yacht Club at the Jersey shore.

Hofheimer Grotto

One of my favorite sitting spots in my sleepy little town. It was created by Nathan Hofheimer, a very wealthy German investor. Hofheimer retired to the United States, purchased 350 acres of land in Warren, New Jersey, and built a copper mine. When it closed down, Nathan had a grotto built over the mine.

Dream Journal Excerpts

From a sketchbook/journal where I write down a decent portion of the dreams I can remember. Not all the drawings are pulled from dreams, but the number of them that are plus the fact that I started out writing dreams in it in the first place make me feel like calling it a dream journal. Anyway, these are some of my favorite drawings from it. Only the faceless gentleman in the hat represents an actual dream.
