U.S.S. Montauk

The U.S.S. Montauk was an ironclad Moniter of the American Civil War, built in Greenpoint Brooklyn and launched October 1962, decommissioned in Philadelphia in 1965.
Following the war, the Montauk was moved to Washington, and was the site of the autopsy of assassin John Wilkes Booth, as well as a prison for six of his accomplices.
The ship remained in Philadelphia until it was sold in 1904.

For the past few weeks a good deal of my attention has been devoted to some paintings which will hopefully be complete before the end of the summer. In the meantime here's what I do while not working on those canvases.

Pear

This is a little ceramic pear lying around my room I bought at an antique store last summer. No idea what it's for but it makes for a cute still life.

Suburbanite

They walk around at night when no one's looking. I swear!

Brain Thing

Being awake 'til the sun comes up every night isn't always the most pleasant thing but at least I get to draw lots of circles.

Matryoshka

Another razzmatazzed doodle, this one I decided to plop on a shirt with the hopes of standing out in the t-shirt contests on Threadless.com; the thumbnail below the original image is a link to my pending submission on that site.

The Holy Mountain

A more recent favorite film of mine. Highly recommended if you wanna see something so outlandish and far-gone that it makes absolute perfect sense, but it's certainly not for the squeamish.
